Bill Martin – Softball / Baseball Hitting-Defensive Instructor

Bill’s playing career has seen many awards while helping his teams win championships and break school records. From Team MVP to All conference achievements at each level, his senior year at Montevallo was the high point of his career. He hit a career high .425 batting avg, 21 homeruns, with a .886 slugging percentage. He was named to NCAA 3rd Team All-American and being named TPX National Player of the Week earlier in the season. His success as a player is one key factor to the success his students have seen since becoming a coach/instructor in 2000.Coaching/Instructor ExperienceBegan right after college as an Instructor at Grand slam USA in Pelham. His first head coaching position was Freshman baseball team at Pelham were the won the County Championship. Having converted to Girls Softball, his students saw immediate success. He coached seasons for Bham Crusaders, and other travel ball teams giving him the chance to become hitting Coach For UAB softball Team. His love for all ages, both sports, and individual time lead him to doing Instruction only. Having moved to Central Alabama he has trained in Cullman at TPSA, Hartselle facility, his own remote business, and now Hayden. He also has directed and assisted in various camps/clinics thru ought years. Many parks, teams, and high schools as well as various colleges around. He also has had and worked camps with San Frisisco Pitcher Tim Hudson.
Joseph Vacca – Baseball/ Softball Catchers

Coming out of high School he was already considered one of the most fundamentally sound catchers in Birmingham. His 2nd year at Wallace, Joseph helped his team win the Junior College World Series in Junction City, Co. He transferred to U of M where he helped his team reach 25th in NCAA rankings and set new team records in several offensive categories. Joseph spent a couple years as a personal trainer and Professional Cyclists. Having been a catcher his entire career, Vacca not only understands the position, but what it takes to play at the collegiate level.
Josh Davis – Baseball Pitching

Josh began his college career earning 2nd team all-conference honors as a freshman. Coming back the following season earning 1stteam honors. He continued his collegiate career at Montevallo as a conference starter his final 2 years being named Conference pitcher of the week on multiple occasions. His senior year @ Of Josh helped his Team win regionals and finishing 3rd at the Division 2 College World Series. Josh is currently the Head Physical Therapists at Encore Rehab here in Hayden. Josh brings a lot of successful pitching experience to GYS.
Kenneth McGaughy – Baseball Pitching

Kenneth was one of the top pitchers in the state at Hayden HS being named to All-State High School Team. He was a conference pitcher both years at Bevill State. While a starter at Miles Conference he was named to All-Conference team.Coaching ExperienceHe spent his first season at Hayden HS as pitching coach. He was named the Middle School Head Coach at Rudd. Now an assistant varsity coach at Pinson Valley. His experience as a pitcher and coach will be an asset to GYS Staff.
